Unique Opportunity for Open/Free Document Collaboration (use of $150,000 +/- enterprise software for no cost)
Owner offer and comments:
As the owner of Spacedox, I have relegated all the software listed below to IBM Cloud storage, where it will sit OR be reinstalled when developers/entrepreneurs and/or end users see an opportunity or present a valid application idea. I am looking for best option(s) and am not expecting to be paid.
"brava!" an industry favorite web-based document/markup viewer for construction, is at the heart of ProjectDox enterprise software. ProjectDox is designed to interface with brava! to make it user friendly for online file uploading, organization and versioning, user security and management, notifications, etc.
Do a Google search for ProjectDox (Avolve), and you will see that it is currently being utilized for plan reviews in several states, counties and cities across the US.
A few years ago I purchased an unlimited user/unlimited site version of ProjectDox and rebranded it as Spacedox. My 1st user was the USPS national real estate account. As an early adopter of online plan reviews and ProjectDox, I started to offer Spacedox as a SaaS to municipalities, mostly in the NW. While I did cover my costs, I had limited funds and limited success with my business model. When my last two municipalities moved to Bluebeam Revu I decided to close the service.
The license: I am told that I have the one and only unlimited license and that no other license owner can offer it to an outside (their organization) users. It is licensed to only me and/or my assigns within my family. I have version 7.1 with no support. Avolve, rightfully so, does not see me as a threat.
Doxit is a application that was designed and owned by me as a web-portal to help submit plans to Bluebeam. Doxit was 100% developed, integrated with Bluebeam and tested to work. It, however was never a commercial success.
Other: For many years, ProjectDox was only offered as a single site installation software. The cost for one site was anywhere from $50K to $150K (or more) depending upon various factors. More recently, and another reason I decided to put the software into IBM Cloud storage, is when ProjectDox started offering the software as an online service. There was no way for me to compete. Interestingly- I notice that they more recently joined with Bluebeam for some of the same reasons that I did. My instincts, at least, were correct.
