SOFTWARE AS A SERVICE:
Spacedox is a hosted service. Spacedox is quick to implement and inexpensive to maintain. All software upgrades are included in the basic subscription fees.
THREE (3) SERVICE OPTIONS:
1. Spacedox Cloud stands on its own. This inexpensive option does not require any additional software to work. Spacedox Unlimited includes a powerful upload portal that allows applicants to submit their plans directly to the jurisdiction and is full featured.
2. Spacedox Connected is linked to our online citizen's portal. The citizen's portal allows an applicant to apply and pay for any permit online.
3. Spacedox Connected integrates with most major software systems.
REAL PERSON- REAL SERVICE. IT IS STANDARD.
If you become a SpaceDox user, regardless of which package you have purchased, we will always support you and help you should you need it, without charging you additional fees. Although we harness the power of the web to bring to you our service, we do not underestimate the importance of people, and of having a person available to speak with you, and help you when you need it.
SPACEDOX IS INTUITIVE. YOU WON’T NEED A MANUAL.
Electronic plan review is a small, niche industry. It is not a new industry, but consider this its rebirth. Electronic plan review was tried over a decade ago, and many municipalities have tried in their own way to create electronic plan review capabilities by patching together various document review and transfer tools, including pdf markup and comment programs, and FTP sites, just to name a few. The systems that people have tried to bring you in the past were complicated, cumbersome, and required you to maintain and expand your IT infrastructure. Worst of all, in our opinion, the systems of the past tended not to be used. At SpaceDox, we pride ourselves on having built an intuitive program that requires zero IT work or IT investment on your end. Extensive instructions are available over the web and you can always call us if you want to learn about any specific feature. But you’ll never need a thick operating manual to use Spacedox simply because you won’t need it. SpaceDox is designed to be learned naturally, and over a few plan review sessions, you’ll learn how it works, and what buttons and features are most important to you. Once you sign in and start playing with SpaceDox, you’ll feel at home. Test Drive it Today.
IT’S NOT ABOUT BEING PAPERLESS. PAPER WILL ALWAYS BE THERE. IT’S ABOUT MUCH MORE.
SpaceDox is not here to take away paper from the plan review process, or to eliminate front desk time. We believe that there will always be a need for paper, or a paper equivalent, and a need for face-to-face contact. Rather, SpaceDox is here to make sure that you are as productive you can with the paper you use, and that your face-to-face meetings and phone calls with building applicants are not redundant, and are as productive as they can be. Here is an example of how this works: With SpaceDox, when you receive a plan set for review, you are most likely going to comment on it in writing, and send those comments back to the building applicant for inclusion in a resubmittal. After the applicant receives your comments, he or she often calls you asking for clarification on some of your comments. With SpaceDox, you have the ability to make more detailed comments, and cut and paste text from the building code right into your markup-box. Your comments and markups are collated automatically for the applicant in a very clear format, and as a result, the building applicant has a greater understanding of your comments. This is just one example.
Using less paper is not an overnight switch. Architects and engineers have long made the switch to creating their drawings in an electronic environment, and have long realized that going back to paper source drawings would be unaffordable. If digital drafting programs are part of natural progression in building industry innovation, then so is electronic, or digital, plan review.
YOUR PRODUCTIVITY IS YOUR GREATEST ASSET.
At SpaceDox, we understand that people in the building industry, including municipal plan reviewers, are not the biggest lovers of software. We know this because we come from the building industry. We are hands-on types of people. We like to touch and see the things we work with. We prefer to speak with people directly, and see them in person. While all of that is true, we always strive to be productive people. Due to the nature of the building industry – and that includes municipal building, fire, public works, planning and engineering departments – our productivity is our greatest asset. Our population is growing, and our job is to stay on top of the building needs of the people we serve. As those needs grow, so must our productivity.
