The SpaceDox Grant

Last year, our country went through a massive economic upheaval, and in the process, individuals, businesses and government bodies alike tightened their budgets. Budget items that are nice-to-have gave way to items that are must-haves, and organizations have had to learn to leverage technology more economically. With construction starts down along with reduced plan submittals, some agencies see this as an opportune time to retool certain areas of their operations, but may not have the budget to do so. At SpaceDox, we don’t want the economy to stop our customers from benefiting from our service. Having more satisfied customers is one of our biggest goals.

More importantly, we’d like to serve, as customers, those who would appreciate our service the most. As a response to the economic climate that we are climbing out of, SpaceDox has started a private grant that is designed to assist agencies that see the value in having an electronic plan submittal and review service, but that are hesitant to make such an investment in these difficult times.

The SpaceDox grant is for twelve months, and can be re-applied for on an annual basis. Grant recipients are entitled to some or all of the following:

  • The use of SpaceDox
  • Custom software development
  • Computer hardware
  • Support and training packages

SpaceDox is offering this grant with internal funding. Setting up an agency involves costs that SpaceDox incurs for servers, software, at times hardware, and training. Normally, we charge the agency a monthly fee for these expenses. We also collect from building applicants a plan submittal fee that is estimated to be less than the cost of paper. The grant will cover the costs that are normally associated with the monthly fee portion charged to agencies for the twelve month grant period. We intend to recover our investment in this grant over time through an anticipated increase in applicant submittal fees. This will allow us to serve you, update our programs and continually improve our offerings.

Our Grant Process

Our grant process is very simple.

Step 1

Submit this grant application online (only takes a few minutes).

Step 2

We will review all applications and establish a short list of applicants. As criteria for putting agencies on our shortlist, we will consider whether the agency values the benefits that electronic plan review brings to an organization.

Step 3

We will then contact the agencies on our shortlist for a phone interview.

Step 4

From those agencies we interview we will select appropriate applicants. As additional criteria, we will be asking ourselves the following questions:

  • Will this agency use and appreciate our service?
  • Will this agency encourage building applicants to use it?
